Wooden Blinds for Bay Windows
Wooden blinds for bay windows bring warmth, texture and timeless style to a room. A bay is made of several angled panes, so each pane needs its own made-to-measure blind. This page explains how wooden and faux wood Venetian blinds work in a bay, which to choose, and how they are fitted. For every bay shape, see our guide to the best blinds for bay windows.
Wooden Blindsfor Bay Windows, Made to Measure
Why Venetian blinds suit bay windows
Venetian blinds have rigid slats and clean lines that echo the straight architecture of a bay. Tilting the slats gives you precise control over light and privacy, which is ideal for a bay that gets strong sun through the day. A matching finish across every panel creates a coordinated look for the whole bay.
Wooden or faux wood blinds for a bay window?
Our faux wood Venetian blinds give you the look of wood in a material that copes better with sunlight and humidity. That makes them a practical choice for kitchens, bathrooms and sunny bays. See our white faux wood Venetian project and our white wood Venetian project. For a slimmer, more modern look, metal Venetian blinds are another option.
Wooden blinds for square and splay bays
In a square (90°) bay, each panel gets its own Venetian blind, with matching ladder tapes across the bay for a tailored finish. In a splay (45°) bay, slimmer 25mm slats are usually the best fit in the tight corners. We confirm the best size when we measure.
Wooden blinds for bow windows
Bow windows have several narrow panels in a curve, so a separate Venetian blind in each panel gives the neatest result. For a softer, more flowing look, segmented Roman blinds are another option: see our page on blinds for bow windows.
Other bay window blinds to compare
- Vertical blinds for bay windows – best for tall, wide panes.
- Roman blinds – soft folds for curved bays.
- Roller blinds – simple and easy to clean.

FAQs – Wooden Blinds for Bay Windows
Do I need a separate Venetian blind for each pane of a bay window?
Yes, in almost every case. Fitting an individual blind to each panel gives a neater fit and avoids gaps at the angled joints.
What is the difference between wooden and faux wood blinds?
Wooden blinds are made from real wood. Faux wood blinds look like wood but cope better with sunlight and humidity, so they suit kitchens, bathrooms and sunny bays.
What slat size is best for a splay bay?
Slimmer 25mm slats usually fit best in the tight corners of a splay bay. We confirm this when we measure.
Can I have matching tapes across all the panels of my bay?
Yes. Ladder tapes can be matched across every panel for a coordinated, tailored finish.
Do you fit wooden blinds for bay windows near me?
Yes. We measure, make and fit Venetian blinds for bay windows across West Yorkshire, with free measuring and fitting.
