Day & Night Blinds: Why They're 2026's Most Requested Style
Every major interior trend forecast for 2026 names the same style as the one homeowners are asking for most: Day & Night blinds, also called Vision or zebra blinds. They solve a problem ordinary blinds can’t – soft daylight one moment, full privacy the next, without swapping blinds or adding curtains.
At Hermis Blinds, we have fitted Day & Night blinds across West Yorkshire for exactly this reason: they are one of the few styles that genuinely changes how a room feels through the day, not just how it looks.
2026 TrendDay & Night Blinds vs Other Popular Styles
| Blind Style | Light Control | Best For | Why It’s Trending (or Not) in 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day & Night Blinds | Continuous – slide between sheer and opaque | Living rooms, bedrooms, home offices | Named the top trending style in almost every 2026 interior forecast |
| Roller Blinds | Fixed, depends on fabric chosen | Kitchens, bathrooms, simple wipe-clean rooms | A dependable classic, but gives one light level rather than a range |
| Venetian Blinds | Adjustable via slat tilt | Kitchens, home offices | Still popular, but doesn’t give the soft diffused look Day & Night provides |
| Roman Blinds | Fixed, softened by fabric folds | Living rooms, bedrooms | Often layered with curtains for a similar look – Day & Night achieves it alone |
Why Interior Designers Are Choosing This Style for 2026
2026’s biggest interior shift is toward rooms that feel calm and layered without being cluttered. Day & Night blinds deliver that directly: the alternating stripes add texture and depth to a window, doing visually what a lot of homes achieve by layering curtains over blinds.
It is also a practical trend, not just a visual one. Slide the fabric layers to align sheer-to-sheer for filtered daylight during the day, then opaque-to-opaque for privacy in the evening, all with one pull of the chain or wand.
A Style That Works With What You Already Have
Unlike some design trends, Day & Night blinds don’t ask you to redecorate. The neutral stripe patterns sit comfortably alongside most existing furniture, wall colours and curtains, which is part of why they have become such a popular upgrade rather than a full room refit.
If you already have Roman blinds or curtains in one room and want to bring in some texture elsewhere, pairing them with Day & Night blinds on a different window is a simple way to bring the look through your home gradually.

I had day and night blinds fitted in my living room and three bedrooms, along with roller blinds for the bathroom, all from Hermis Blinds. From the initial enquiry through to the fitting, the whole experience was excellent. Mohammed was really helpful and professional when arranging the appointment and coming out to measure. He explained everything clearly, was punctual and made the whole process easy and stress-free. When it came to fitting the blinds, Mohammed did a fantastic job. He took his time to make sure everything was fitted properly and looked great. He was also very respectful of my home and made sure to clean up after himself once the work was completed. He took all the rubbish and packaging away with him, which I really appreciated. The blinds look fantastic throughout the house and I’m really pleased with the quality and finish.
